I saw these guys live - twice. Really fun. The All-American Rejects was just another garage band trying to make it big in the early '00s. Their first single "Swing, Swing" was hardly a hit, but it caught a few ears. They returned in 2005 with the popular album Move Along. That's when I think they became just another mainstream pop act on MTV. Not to say they were ever that indie sounding. In fact, they're like those other boy bands that mix a bit of punk with their sound. Just with a better singer, better lyrics and not so generic material. I'm also not saying that their sophomore record was bad. It was pretty good, just too polished and market ready (hence it being their breakthrough commercially). "The Last Song" was the second single from the debut LP. It's quite underrated. It's a speedy track with the instantaneous grind of power pop all amid. What stood out to me was during the interlude, a full orchestra pops up and plays a short piece. I personally think bands like Good Charlotte, Simple Plan and similar should all fall off the face of the music industry. TAAR has something that makes them unique.

Thanks for posting this. I love this song--I think TAAR was on the mix a lot where I used to work.
