Before awful radio rock bands like Creed, Nickelback, 3 Doors Down and Daughtry came about, there was Fuel. Better singer, less conformed to making music that preteens will buy, and just really well suited for their genre. Then again, they got a little more "pop" for the two albums that followed Sunburn. That's when I lost interest ("Bad Day" is still pretty good nonetheless). "Shimmer" is their crowning achievement in their singles collection. It's not as gritty as the other selections on that LP, but its lyrics are beautiful and the score is touching in an angry way. Today, Fuel has a new vocalist, but I've yet to check them out.
