I'm a sucker for this Canadian teen soap, Instant Star. The lead, Alexz Johnson, is an amazing singer surprisingly. She's a much better singer than Kelly Clarkson and her songs, as cookie cutter pop rock as they once were, are guilty pleasures. The soundtrack version of "Ultraviolet" is sung by some guy named Luke McMaster. Why? Legal reasons probably since Alexz is trying to do her own solo music away from the series (which ended in 2008). Thankfully I found Alexz's mix. "Ultraviolet" is a simile filled pop-rock song with a nice hook.
